Suspected bandits have attacked Magami village in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.in the early hours of Wednesday.

The suspected bandits stormed the village on about 90 motor bikes and invaded Yan Doka, Kango and Ruwan Dawa communities of Magami, eye-witnesses said.

Though there hasn’t been any official statement as at press time, about 40 persons reportedly lost their lives in the attack.

When contacted, Zamfara Police Public Relation Officer, SP Shehu Mohammed, said he had no information on the attack.

Zamfara State has been experiencing incessant attacks by bandits.

On February 26, bandits abducted about 279 female students of the Government Girls Science Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara State.

However, the students were released on March 2.

President Muhammadu Buhari had declared Zamfara State a no-fly-zone and also banned all mining activities in the state, in a bid to curb the worsening insecurity.
