Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented the 2021 Appropriation Bill to the Lagos State Assembly, Tuesday.

Tagged, “Budget of Rekindled Hope,” the budget is estimated at
N1.15Trillion, representing a modest increment from the ongoing budget.

A statement by Gawat Jubril, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on New Media, revealed that the presentation was done behind closed doors.

Gawat tweeted on his tweeter handle, “FLASH: Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presents N1.155 Trillion Naira budget for the year 2021 to the Lagos State House of Assembly tagged: BUDGET OF REKINDLED HOPE.”

According to the Governor, “our 2020 budget performed 56% in the first quarter, 57% for second quarter and 77% for the third quarters.

“We intend to drive our budget to 88% and 90% performance, going forward”

He disclosed that in spite of the challenges, “we see every challenges as opportunity to develop.”

The news, especially the aspect where the governor promised the abolition of Pension for Ex Governors and Ex-Deputy, set the social media on frenzy, as many saw it as one of the answers to long asked question by the people.

“We do not need to deceive ourselves, the news is definitely a good one. Especially when you imagine how much is being wasted through this conduit pipe,” Mr Kehinde Ajayi, a political analyst told this reporter.
