  • Faults NBA For Withdrawing El-Rufai’s Invitation

Deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Sunday, returned to the North with funfair, five months after his dethronement.

Sanusi, who was dethroned by the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, on March 9, 2020, arrived Kaduna on Sunday

The former Emir was received by a large crowd of supporters on arrival in Kaduna. Some of them displayed 2023 campaign posters with his photograph on their vehicles.

Meanwhile, the deposed Emir faulted the withdrawal of invitation extended to governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, by the Nigeria Bar Association, (NBA).

NBA had invited El-Rufai as one of its speakers for its forthcoming conference, but due to protest by some lawyers, NBA dropped him.

Reacting moment after he met Elrufai Sanusi said: “I hope that the action of the NBA will not turn into an ethnic or religious matter if it is not properly handled by the leadership of the association, I think NBA has lost an opportunity to interrogate the Governor and collectively rub minds to identify areas that need to be addressed for the purpose of governance”.
