Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State on Thursday, May 30, met with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu in Abuja.

The governor revealed this on his official X handle on Thursday.

Yusuf, who shared pictures of his meeting with Ribadu, said: “I had a fruitful engagement with the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, this afternoon in Abuja. – AKY.”

While the full details of the meeting remain sketchy as of press time, it comes amidst the crisis of the royal stool of the Emir of Kano.

The New Diplomat reports that the visit comes days after the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, had accused Ribadu of facilitating the return of Ado Bayero, the dethroned Emir of Kano, to the palace by providing him with two private jets.

However, Ribadu denied the allegations, and demanded a retraction and an apology from Gwarzo within 24 hours, an ultimatum the deputy governor honoured, and retracted his allegation, saying he was misinformed.
