Manchester United’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has become the most followed celebrity in the world, as he is the first to exceed 400 million followers.

The Portuguese forward, who recently exceeded 400million followers on Instagram, made this information official via a clip on his verified Instagram account, @cristiano.

He however appreciated his “followers” in the video, for making the great feat possible.

In his words: “Guys, 400 million followers, wow! what a number. Now I can say….Well, it’s fantastic, what a moment for me, without you it is impossible. So from the bottom of my heart, I will like to say, thank you. Keep growing like that, because you deserve it. So thank you very much…..”

The Portuguese forward, who has just turned 37 years old, became the most followed person on Instagram when he reached 237 million followers in September 2021.

In just six months, Ronaldo has seen his number of followers on Instagram increase by 163 million. The former Real Madrid player has published 3,242 posts with an average of 10 million likes apiece, while he only follows 500 accounts.
