The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has officially presented certificates of return to the newly elected local government chairmen.
The presentation came after the conclusion of the Saturday’s Local Government election across Rivers State.
The New Diplomat reports that the Action People’s Party (APP) won 22 out of 23 chairmanship positions, while the Action Alliance(AA) candidate, won one seat.
The Chairman of the Commission, Justice Adolphus Enebeli issued the certificates to the chairmen at the RSIEC headquarters in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
He also announced the results for the 3I9 wards councilorship, with the APP maintaining dominance with 314 seats, while the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Boot Party clinching one seat each in Okirika, Asari-Toru, Eleme, Degema, and Ahoada West Local Government Areas.
The APC won the councilorship Seat in Okirika Ward 3, the Boot Party in Ahoada-West Ward 8, the Labour Party in Asari-Toru Ward 3, the SDP in Eleme Ward 3 and the YPP in Degema Ward 5.

6 Asari-Toru – Sule Amachree.
7 Bonny – Dame Hon. Anengi Barasua Claude-Wilcox (re-elected)
8 Degema – Harry Agiriye
9 Eleme – Brain Gokpa (serving Caretaker Committee Chairman)
10 Emohua – David Omereji (serving Caretaker Committee Chairman)
11 Etche – Uzodinma Nwafor
12 Gokana – Monday Dumiye
13 Ikwerre – Isreal Abosi
14 Khana – Martins Nwigbo
