Professor Zacchaeus Adangor, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State, has submitted his resignation to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, citing strictly personal reasons in a formal letter.
According to reports, his resignation might be linked to the Governor’s contentious delivery of the state budget exclusively to five members of the House of Assembly, as well as the demolition of the State House of Assembly complex on Wednesday.
It would be recalled that on Wednesday, Governor Fubara presented the 2024 budget for the state to the five lawmakers in his camp which has raised a lot of questions on the legality of the presentation of the budget to less than the majority of the entire assembly members.
