How a leaked phone call derailed the Thai PM’s career – and the Shinawatra dynasty

Thailand's Constitutional Court strikes again, removing yet another prime minister from office. The country's notoriously interventionist panel of nine appointed judges has ruled that Paetongtarn Shinawatra violated ethical standards in a phone call she had in June with the veteran Cambodian leader Hun Sen, which he then leaked. In it, Paetongtarn could be heard being…

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat located along Aba Road in Port Harcourt in Rivers State capital is in flames.

This is seen in a viral video.
As seen in the video, the fire incident wreaked havoc on the buildings belonging to the opposition party.

Though the Police ia yet to ascertain the true cause of the fire, some APC chieftains claim the havoc was caused by explosives suspected to be dynamite considering the range and magnitude of the destruction.

The explosion brought down the gate of the secretariat while doors, windows and other property were destroyed.

This is coming barely twenty-four hours after men dressed in police uniform allegedly stormed the premises of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission(RSIEC).

There are speculations that the invaders might be working for certain politicans in the state who are opposed to the conduct of the local government elections.

Despite the tense atmosphere in the state occasioned by the feud between Governor Fubara and his erstwhile ally, Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission said at the weekend that all sensitive materials have been distributed to the various local government areas.

Meanwhile, the viral video showed some workers at the facilities going round to ascertain the extent of the damage.
The opposition party has yet to make an official statement on the incident.

This is the second time the Chief Tony Okocha-led APC would be experiencing such an attack at its secretariat this year.
As of the time of filing this report nobody knows what might be the fallout of this unpleasant development.
Details later…
