Members of the RevolutionNow protesters on Thursday marched to the United States Embassy in Abuja to protest over what they described as unacceptable policies by the President Muhammadu Buhari‘s led administration which they said have brought about  l harsh economic policies of the Buhari-led administration.

The protest was led by RevolutionNow convener, Mr Omoyele Sowore, who carried a placard with the inscription, ‘Buhari has failed,’ ‘Resign Now’, among other inscriptions.

Other placards read, ‘Failed leadership has made Nigeria the poverty capital of the world,’ and ‘RevolutionNow’.

One of the protesters was #BringBackOurGirls activist, Ms. Aisha Yesufu who said Buhari ‘s government has failed Nigerians and things are increasingly becoming unbearable.

Other protesters included Ariyo Dare-Atoye, Henry Shield, Adebayo Raphael, Deji Adeyanju of Concerned Nigerians and others.

They criticized what they described as oppression and unacceptable economic policies in the country.

Raphael said Nigerians are losing confidence in the leadership of country. He said, “under Buhari, our economy is in shambles. Hardship has been redefined under him”.

Adeyanju observed that soldiers, policemen and other security agents have taken over the Unity Fountain, Maitama, where a rally was supposed to hold. He said Nigerians were dissatisfied with the security and economic conditions in the country.

Adeyanju pleaded with the US to place a visa ban on those opposed to a peaceful  protest in Osogbo, Osun State.

It was gathered that peaceful protests were also held at Area one, Life Camp, Jabi, Kuje, Kwali, Kubwa and Lugbe areas of Abuja.

Meanwhile, the protest in Lagos became chaotic as a photo journalist with the punch newspaper, Mr Olukayode Jaiyeola was brutalized.

The incident reportedly happened at the Maryland area of the state where Jaiyeola was one of the journalists assigned by his organization to cover the peaceful demonstration.

Pictures and visuals showed a brutalized Jaiyeola lying helplessly with injuries  inflicted on him.
