Nigerians have been reacting after gospel singer Tope Alabi criticised her colleague Adeyinka Alaseyori over her hit song titled ‘Oniduro Mi eseun o’ ( meaning ‘my guarantor, I’m grateful’ in Yoruba).

In a video making the rounds on social media, Tope Alabi said God was more than a guarantor to her. The singer further said that there was a time she wanted to sing the song but the Holy Spirit cautioned her against doing so.

According to Tope Alabi, if Adeyinka Alaseyori had sung the song from the Holy Spirit’s leading, she would have understood that God is more than a guarantor and wouldn’t have said such a word.

Meanwhile, several reactions have been posted on the social media after Tope Alabi’s comment, with many knocking the ace gospel musician.

They include:

ayoade_babajie”pls let somebody to tell aunty Tope to be calming down o. She can’t just assume to be the best in the industry. She is meant to be a model and encourage new artists and talk them down. We like the song like that shikena”

seundreams wrote” if this is not pure envy then I dunno what else to call it”

blessed_beautiful_queen ”too many God’s assistants in Nigeria and yet we are the leading world’s problem”

oluwacashmade”person say na because her oniduro na Ajanaku”

”Only in Nigeria that we have people who feel they are holier than God himself. This song is so uplifting, everything about it is edifying” poshscarlet.

However, as at the time of filling this report the gospel singers haven’t reacted to the trending news on social media.
