The Federal lawmaker who took to his official Instagram page explained that his decision to gift his daughter a new SUV was because of her impressive performance in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

Gagdi wrote: “Today, I attended my amazing daughter’s graduation ceremony. Watching you, my dear daughter, walk across that stage fills my heart with immense pride and love. I celebrate your achievements and the strength you’ve shown. Here’s to a future filled with endless possibilities and happiness. Congratulations, my shining star!”

Meanwhile, Nigerians have begun to react to the development. Below are some of the reactions curated from social media:

“The politicians keep using our treasury to secure the future of their kids while the children of the poor keep languishing in abject poverty”(@onlineguru_)

“This is a misplaced priority. How can a House of Rep member earn enough monthly to justify buying such an expensive SUV for a teenage girl? The EFCC should investigate this man bcoz this doesn’t seem right.”(@badlieutanat)

“While the poor are getting cups of rice and N5k as their “constituency project”(@flourish007)

“There is nothing wrong here.

That’s how to live the life and show love to your kids.

They must not experience the harsh life.

The goal is to protect your kids from all you went through before being successful.”(@thekingsize)
