The Super Eagles have landed in Abuja in the early hours of Saturday, March 26 as the fight for a ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar continues after the team played a goaless draw with Ghana’s Black Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
On Friday evening, Ghana put behind their poor performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in January to mount relentless pressure on the Super Eagles in front of thousands of boisterous fans inside the 40,000-capacity stadium in Kumasi.

But the Eagles, following impressive displays from goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, fullback Ola Aina, and centre-back Leon Balogun, held their own to force a draw.
The three-time African champions could have even snatched a late win, but Moses Simon hit his shot straight at the Black Stars goalkeeper when well placed.
And VAR cancelled a penalty kick the referee awarded to the Augustine Eguavoen-tutored side, with minutes left on the clock.
The focus switches to the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, where the second leg of this crucial World Cup qualifier will be played.
A win of any margin for the Super Eagles will secure the team a spot at Qatar 2022.
