Two Nigerian professional footballers Victor Osimhen and Odion Ighalo are yet to arrive the Super Eagles camp in Tangier, Morocco ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.

However, 21 players have arrived the team’s camp as at November 9, 2021.

10 out of 24 invited players arrived the team’s camp on Monday.

Among the early arrivals are; Daniel Akpeyi, Wilfred Ndidi Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke.

The camp further came alive with the arrival of 11 more players on Tuesday morning.

Captain Ahmed Musa, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Kenneth Omeruo, Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun are among the latest arrivals in camp.

The trio of Victor Osimhen, Odion Ighalo and John Noble, a late replacement for Francis Uzoho are expected to join their teammates in camp on Tuesday (today).

The Super Eagles will hold their first training session ahead of Thu qualifiers on Tuesday.

Gernot Rohr’s charges will face the Lone Star of Liberia in Tangier, on Saturday and then host the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in their final group game in the qualifiers at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos next week Tuesday.

The three-time African champions top Group C with nine points from four matches.

Recall 32-year-old, Ighalo had reacted after Gernot Rohr included him in the provisional squad for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations finals as he succinctly responded that, he was yet to take his decision.

Ighalo in his words: “They have been in contact with me about the possibility of coming back.”

“I don’t know. I have not said yes or no. I haven’t made any decision concerning the national team.”
