The Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has commented on the return of Odion Ighalo to the team’s training camp ahead of Nigeria’s final Group C match against Cape Verde in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Ighalo, joined the camp on Thursday, but was not included in the list of players that recorded the 2-0 win against Liberia on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Tangier, Morocco.

Speaking on his return via the Super Eagles social media page, Rohr expressed hope that Ighalo can play a part in the game against Cape Verde on Tuesday, where Nigeria will need a point to qualify for the playoff.

Rohr said: “Ighalo only arrived on Thursday, that is why he could not participate in this match.

“But I hope the next match he will help us much more.

The former Manchester United striker last played for the senior national team, Super Eagles, at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria finished in the Third place.
