The Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has commented on the return of Odion Ighalo to the team’s training camp ahead of Nigeria’s final Group C match against Cape Verde in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Ighalo, joined the camp on Thursday, but was not included in the list of players that recorded the 2-0 win against Liberia on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Tangier, Morocco.

Speaking on his return via the Super Eagles social media page, Rohr expressed hope that Ighalo can play a part in the game against Cape Verde on Tuesday, where Nigeria will need a point to qualify for the playoff.

Rohr said: “Ighalo only arrived on Thursday, that is why he could not participate in this match.

“But I hope the next match he will help us much more.
