The Presidential Task Force, (PTF) on Covid-19 has okayed the staging of the 20th National Sports Festival in Edo State.

A statement announcing the approval also allayed fears over Covid-19.

According to the PTF, the Edo State Government has made adequate preparations on Covid-19 protocols in line with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and National Primary Health care guidelines.

The PTF also commended the Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare, for understanding the need to postpone the festival several times following the spread of Covid -19 in the country.

The 20th National Sports Festival which holds from April 2nd to 14th was initially scheduled for last year but was postponed because of the outbreak of Covid-19.
