The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager, Mauricio Pochettino has on Friday tested positive for COVID-19 as the club confirmed he has contracted the deadly virus.

As a result, Pochettino has gone into isolation and will not be on the touchline on Saturday when his side play Angers.

The club announced this in a statement released on Friday, noting that his assistants will now take his duties at the club.

The club said, “Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has tested positive for Sars-Cov2 after a PCR test..

“He will now be in isolation and follow the appropriate medical advice. His assistants Jesus Perez and Miguel D’Agostino will take over his duties starting tomorrow at Angers.”

The list of positve COVID-19 cases keeps growing at the moment at the club as PSG will also be without the services of Colin Dagba, Thilo Kehrer and Rafinha who had also tested positive for COVID-19.

It would be recalled that Pochettino tested positive for COVID-19 days after he clinched his first trophy as a manager.
