Some unidentified armed men have invaded the Kabba Correctional facility centre and freed over 100 inmates.
It was gathered that the armed men attacked the facility in the early hours of Monday.
During the attack, two soldiers who were part of a squad mounting roadblock along the Lokoja-Okebukun-Kabba highway were killed by the armed men.
It was also gathered that the soldiers were stationed 50 metres before the Correctional Centre as part of their routine checkpoint, when the armed men attacked them, shooting sporadically before they marched on the correctional centre.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 8, Lokoja, Ayuba Ede has also confirmed the incident.
Ede also confirmed that two soldiers lost their lives during the attack.
