 A People’s Democratic Party, PDP,  Chieftain, Prime Sonny Ogbon, on Thursday continued the distribution of free books and writing materials to pupils and students of some selected public schools in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Prince Ogbon said the gesture was aimed at complementing the State Government’s efforts in assisting children from rural communities to have access to quality education.
 Prince Ogbon and his team were at Igun Primary School, Igun in Ethiope East LGA where he continued his distribution of free books and writing materials that he started early this week.
He has gone round some selected public primary and secondary schools in Ethiope East Council Area, including Kokori Town, where he presented writing materials to the pupils and students.
The philanthropist, said the gesture was his own way of putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged children whose parents and guardians cannot afford the cost of providing writing materials, noting that the free books and writing  materials will enable them join other students learn.
He stressed that, the gesture which was his own way of complementing the good work of the Okowa administration will, no doubt, improve the standard of education in the benefiting schools.
Prince Ogbon commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for giant strides in terms of development of the education sector across the state.
He urged Deltans to sustain their support for the Governor for his re- election bid to enable him consolidate on his achievements.
Prince Ogbon advised the beneficiaries to make effective use of the items and promised to continue to assist them.
Some parents, head teachers, pupils and students, of the beneficiary schools thanked Prince Sonny Ogbon for the gesture saying, it would go along way in supporting the educational pursuit of the school children.
They stated that Prince Ogbon and his family has been a blessing to their children over the years and prayed God to grant him his heart desires.
The respondents called on others politicians to emulate the good work of Prince Ogbon and extend assistance to the less privileged in the society.
The distribution of free books and writing materials to some selected public primary and secondary schools in Delta Central Senatorial District by Prince Sonny Ogbon continues.
