The residence of Hajjia Aya Dada Yar’Adua, the mother of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, has turned into a mecca of some sorts in recent times as several politicians aspiring for political office in the forthcoming 2023 General elections have been visiting the Yar’Adua family compound, located in Katsina State.

The New Diplomat reports that over the past one month, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi; Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State; and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, who had expressed interest to contest for the highest seat in the land in 2023, have all paid her a visit.

The presidential aspirants who have paid a courtesy visit to the matriarch had also sought prayers and guidance of Mama Yar’Adua for their ambitions.

The recent of the lots came when Atiku visited the matriarch on Wednesday. Taking to his official social media accounts after the visit, the former Vice-President said Mama Yar’Adua offered prayers for him as he jostles with other individuals for the presidential seat.

“My visit to Katsina would be incomplete without a stopover at the Yar’Adua family compound. Hajjia Aya Dada Yar’Adua, the mother of my late mentor, Tafida Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and former President Umaru Yar’Adua, has been a mother figure to me since my association with the family,” Atiku tweeted on his official Twitter handle.
