- Discharges Kaduna State Governor, El-Rufai On Alleged Treasonable Felony
As the Presidential Candidates of the different political parties penciled down by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to contest the next Saturday election engage in last minute push in their campaigns nationwide, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC), Festus Keyamo, has disclosed that defeated party men at the presidential primaries are those beating the drum for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu electoral down fall.
Keyamo who also doubles as the federal minister of State for Labour, said party men who were defeated by Tinubu at the APC presidential primaries are currently nursing animosity against him.
He stated that these clique of APC members would stop at nothing to pull Tinubu down.
The APC presidential campaign Spokesman who made this declaration at The Channels TV political programme,
“Verdict 2023,” also stated that this group of individuals were among those who wrongly advised the President Mahmoud Buhari to make the pronouncements on his Friday Broadcast that only the ₦200 old note would be allowed to co-exist with the New naira notes.
” This group of persons misguided the President to flout Supreme Court ruling by making that pronouncement because they know that Tinubu has the financial wall chest,” he said.
The minister who dismissed alleged treasonable felony against the the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, said APC like other political parties in the race, needs physical cash to pay party members deployed to various polling units across Nigeria to monitor the electoral process to it’s conclusive end.
His words: “you cannot employ party members to keep watch over the electoral process without giving him some amount of money as stipend to buy biscuits and soft drinks when he’s hungry. That is what the money will be meant for.”
He criticised those who are accusing El-Rufai of treasonable felony for kicking against the President’s earlier pronouncement, insisting that Kaduna State residents should continue using the old naira notes until the Supreme Court eventually rules otherwise.
The APC presidential spokesman stated that in federation, El-Rufai has a duty to protect his people, as that remains his primary obligation as the Governor of the state.
Keyamo said the President who was wrongly advised for going against the Supreme Court ruling that should be questioned as his action is capable of push Nigeria into anarchy.
