The popularity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has waned as its campaign entourage was embarrassed and booed at a community in Delta state over prolonged abandonment by the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.

It was gathered that attempts by entourage to use the community as a thoroughfare was resisted by the residents of Asaba Ase, who in a protest, barricaded the road.
The protesting Asaba ASE residents who wielded different placards with the inscriptions, ” No to the PDP government.” Since the PDP administration in Delta State, we have not benefited anything from the different successive government of the party.”
Others who carried palm fronds besieged the road to register their protest of the bad roads and none provision of social amenities melted at them by the Okowa’s administration.
One of the protesting residents who spoke in the indigenous language, lamented that for more than eight years running, the people of Asaba Ase have been voting for the PDP, yet, they have nothing to show for it.
According to him, they thought reprieve was underway when one their sons, Okowa assumed the mantle of leadership of the state, but that, he lamented was their doom.
The Governor is more interested in developing his hilly town, Agbo to the detriment of other neighbouring communities of Anioma extraction.
“We cannot be fooled anymore with political talks that only appeal to our emotions. We stand today to resist the bad government of Okowa.
” The Governor has separated the people of Agbo from other Anioma speaking Ibo in Delta State by his actions. Hence, we stand against the bad government of Okowa,” they chorused in unism.
For several hours, they refused to allow the Atiku/Okowa Campaign team entered into their community.

The campaign team was said to have embarked on its routine activities to sanitise the people to vote for PDP in the community.

The action of the residents forced the Atiku/Okowa campaign vehicles to turn back as the women and youths booed them out.

In a viral video online, the residents were heard lamenting the state of community, alleging that the administration of Okowa neglected them for eight years.

One of the residents who addressed the camera said the community decided to boycott the PDP’S campaign team because they didn’t enjoy their administration in office.

According to him, despite voting for PDP in the past elections, the community lacks electricity supply, good roads, water supply, and schools.
