- Gov. Matawalle Threatens Terrorists

Attempts by the federal government to tackle head on Terrorists currently on rampage in the Northern Nigeria is gradually yielding appreciable dividends as the Zamfara State Police Command rescued nine victims abducted by bandits in Kucheri village of Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, CSP Mohammed Shehu, who made this disclosure, said the Police Tactical Operatives successfully rescued nine hostages – comprising seven females and two males who were abducted on 11th April, 2023 in Kucheri village in Tsafe local government area of the state.
He said that the successful operation was sequel to credible information obtained from a good Samaritan (names withheld for security reasons), which the police used to trace the hideout of the syndicate.
Shehu said that the police crack tactical team invaded the area and caught the Terrorists who were hibernating in their hideout unaware before an attack was launched.
The Command Spokesman also disclosed that all the victims who were successfully rescued are hale and hearty, adding that the victims were debriefed by the police detectives, and thereafter reunited with their families and relations.
Earlier, the state Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf, reassured the public of sustained onslaught against the activities of bandits and other criminal elements.
In a related development, some bandits have allegedly received a N3 million levy imposed on the people of Wanzamai village, where about 85 people, mostly women and children were kidnapped.
They, however, refused to release the victims after collecting the ransome.
It would be recalled that the State Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammadu Matawalle warned terrorists to stare clear from Zamfara as his administration would not tolerate their nuisances any longer.
