A wave of defection currently rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued as a former National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, formally announced his withdrawal from the party.

Ologbondiyan made this known in a letter shared on his X page on Saturday.

The letter was addressed to the PDP Chairman of Okekoko Ward (09), Kabba/Bunu Local Government, Kogi State.

Ologbondiyan thanked the party leadership for the opportunities provided during his tenure and service.

He said: “Let me start by thanking you, as well as other levels of leadership in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party as well as our fatherland, Nigeria.

“It is now imperative to bring your attention to the fact that I have reviewed my participation in the PDP and came to the conclusion that, for personal reasons, I need to make my exit.

“I have therefore decided to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth.”

Ologbondiyan concluded his letter, dated December 5, 2025, by formally notifying the party of his withdrawal extending good wishes to the leadership.

He previously worked as Director of Media and Publicity for the PDP’s 2019 Presidential Campaign Council and has a background in journalism.

He was also an aide to the former Senate President, David Mark, who is now the current chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
