The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a formal notice of gross misconduct allegations against Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, amidst rising political crisis gripping the state.

The notice signed on March 14, 2025, accused the Governor and the Deputy Governor of actions the Rivers Assembly said it deemed detrimental to the state’s governance, and amount to inappropriate behavior.

The notice reads in part: “In compliance with Section 188 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and other extant laws, we the undersigned members of the Rivers State House of Assembly hereby forward to you a Notice of Gross Misconduct by the Deputy Governor of Rivers State in the performance of the functions of her office.”
