  • As President Confirms Appointment

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday officially announced the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Gambari as his Chief of Staff.

The announcement was made by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha at the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting.

Before Wednesday’s official announcement, The New Diplomat reported on Tuesday that Gambari, a top diplomat has been appointed as Abba Kyari’s replacement.

Gambari resumed in the Presidential Villa, Abuja and is currently participating in the resumed Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President.

He was received on arrival at the Presidential Villa by Senior Presidency officials including the Director of Protocol, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed and the Permanent Secretary State House, Mallam Tijani Umar.

Others include the Senior Special Assistant ro the President on Foreign Affairs, Office of the Vice President, Amb. Abdullahi Gwari as well as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Mallam Garuba Shehu who all ushered him into the Aso Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
