Huge crowd of mourners packed the Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun state country home of Senator Buruji Kashamu for his burial.

However, the protocols issued by the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 took back seat at the burial

Kashamu’s remains were laid to rest at exactly 12:50 according to Islamic rite.

Mourners who thronged the home of the former Senator defied physical distancing protocols while many failed to wear their face masks.

Kashamu died of Covid-19 complications on Saturday.

He respresented Ogun East Senatorial District at the 8th Senate.

The late politician and businessman was the guber candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Ogun in the 2019 elections.

He lost the position to incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun, who hails from his Senatorial District — Ogun East.
