President Joe Biden’s trip to Georgia on Friday, didn’t go unnoticed as he lost his footing and fell on his knees on the steps on the Air Force One.

The 78 year-old President who was sworn-in into office on 20 January, was on his way to Atlanta where he is expected to visit the Centre for Disease Control and meet with leaders of the Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI).

However, his trip got off to a rocky start as he stumbled three times while climbing the stairs of the aircraft.

Biden, however, recovered quickly from the stumble and then walk up the remainder of the steps. He gave a salute at the top before disappearing into the aircraft.

Reacting, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary, blamed the incident on wind gusts, adding that the President is perfectly fine.

Jean-Pierre disclosed this to reporters on Friday.

In her words, “It is pretty windy outside, It’s very windy. I almost fell coming up the steps myself. He is doing 100% fine.”

Similarly, Kate Bedingfield, White House Communications Director, took to her official Twitter handle to assure that the President is fine.

She tweeted, “Nothing more than a misstep on the stairs.”

It would be recalled that Biden recently recovered from a foot injury which he sustained while playing with is dog, Major. He suffered fractures on his right foot, however after receiving medical attention, his physician declared on February 6 that he was fine.
