Kano is currently agog as the who-is-who in the Nigerian society stormed the ancient city, Friday, to grace the wedding Fatiha between President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf and Zahra Nasir Bayero, the daughter of Emir of Bichi.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and several of his colleagues, Ministers, captains of industry all witnessed the marriage of Yusuf Buhari to his bride, Zahra in Kano State.

The wedding which has dominated headlines in recent weeks tagged ‘the wedding of the year’ brought together politicians across the divides as several members of the opposition’s PDP, including Atiku were seen hobnobbing with their APC counterparts in images from the wedding obtained by The New Diplomat.

At the luxury wedding, President Buhari met Atiku, his main challenger in the 2019 presidential poll for the first time since the election as both were seen having a tete-a-tete on the sideline of the event.

Buhari had earlier dispatched a high-level delegation to Kano for the wedding. The delegation was led by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.

Other dignitaries at the wedding include the Minister of Defence, retired Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi; Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono; Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika; Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Hussein Adamu as well as the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu.
