Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has promised to locate a Deep Sea Port in Akwa Ibom if elected president in the 2023 general elections.

Obi who made this declaration at a campaign rally yesterday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, said the state has the capacity to accommodate the gigantic project.

He assured the people that the project would serve as a spring board for other industries to thrive, adding, that the multiplying effect of this endeavour, remains the creation massive jobs and the general economy of the state.

The Labour Party presidential candidate assured the people of Akwa Ibom that the dream would become possible if he is voted for as president in the 2023 general elections.

Speaking in similar vein at the campaign ground, his wife, Margaret Obi who hails from Akwa Ibom, called on her people to vote massively for her husband, Peter Obi in the 2023 general elections.

She assured the people that the Labour Party led federal government would tackled unemployment and poverty in the land.

Mrs Obi disclosed that different women empowerment schemes have been developed to extricate women from poverty.

Earlier, Peter Obi visited the proposed site of the Deep Sea Port with an helicopter. The Presidential candidate also paid courtesy call on the traditional rulers in the different communities and former Prelate of the Anglican communion, Dr. Sunday Mbak.
