As the campaign by all the political parties intensify, the Labour Party, LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi has mobilized women in the federal capital territory (FCT), Abuja to vote for him as he remains the only Aspirant interested in accommodating their interest in government.

The LP presidential candidate who was led by his wife, Margaret Obi, said women are indispensable in the administration of a nation like Nigeria because of the role they play in nation building.

He assured the women that a vote for the LP would guaranteed creation of job for their children and husbands, adding that the current hardships currently being experienced would be a thing of the past.

Obi stated that the present economic predicaments the Nigerian people are currently suffering was mainly due to the corrupt disposition of the leaders who use tax payers’ money to sponsor their family members to holidays in the moon and overseas countries while they, the women and their children leave in poverty.

The LP presidential candidate assured Nigerians that this excesses of government officials would be put to check upon assumption of office as president of Nigeria earlier in the year.

Also, Obi’s wife, Margaret urged the women not to under estimate their electoral power as they have the capacity to decide who to emerge as the president of Nigeria with the power of their votes.

Her words, “We are the neck on which the head stands. Without the neck, the head cannot stand. The neck decides where the head would face. So, a woman is the neck. We can turn the leadership of this country to our favour.”

Against the backdrop of this analogy, Obi’s wife urged the women to vote massively for the LP as they would not be sidelined in the administration of the country to which they belong.

Other women who spoke at the gathering, assured that the LP presidential candidate would tackled the current challenge of insecurity being experienced nationwide that led to the creation of IDP camps in virtually every nooks and crannies of Nigeria, create jobs, provide basic social amenities, provide quality education and other essentials.
