As the different Presidential Aspirants intensify campaign across the nation, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi in Calabar, Cross River State has promised to tackle the impunity of Nigerian police officers manifested through unwarranted brutality meted on innocent citizens.

Peter Obi’s decision to curb the excesses of the police would not be unconnected with reported cases of police brutality that led to the historic EndSAR protest in Lekki, Lagos state that left in it’s wake many Nigerian youths maimed and killed by yet to be unidentified soldiers.

The presidential aspirant also promised to restore the nation’s past glory by turning the economy into a productive one as against a consuming economy, adding that it’s only through economic transformation that jobs would be created for the army of jobless youths.

Peter Obi who reminded the people of Calabar of the status of their city as former capital of Nigeria, also promised to restore the lost glory of the city by making a tourism hub of Africa.
He assured the people that abandoned capital projects in the state would be reactivated, noting that most federal roads in the state are currently in a dilapidated state.

Peter Obi said that this has it near impossible for indigenes of the state to connect their neighbors for meaningful business transactions, adding that their votes would remedy the ugly situation which they are currently experiencing.
