The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed met former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday.
Obasanjo received the 2023 candidates at his residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The vice presidential candidate, Baba-Ahmed disclosed this on his Twitter handle and also shared pictures from the meeting.
The visit may not be unconnected to the candidates’ move to gain wider acceptance and necessary stakeholders’ support for their ambition through nationwide consultation.
“Earlier today, myself and H. E. #PeterObi in company of other #NgLabour chieftains consulted with the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo,” he captioned the pictures.
Also present was the Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo, a social justice activist.
Meanwhile, Prophet Godfrey Gbujie of the Ministerial Leader of World Zionist Union had said that the presidential bid of Mr. Peter Obi was not ordinary, stating that there were strong spiritual forces backing him in the race.
Speaking in Awka on Sunday, Gbujie said Nigerians might witness surprises in the polls and called for prayers for a peaceful exercise.
