The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun accreditation for its national delegates for the presidential primary election.

It was gathered that the party started the accreditation process at about 4pm on Saturday. It was observed that the accreditation is being done by geopolitical zones.

The presidential primary is currently holding at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abuja.

About 811 delegates from the 774 local government areas across the country would decide the fate of the aspirants jostling to clinch the presidential ticket of the party.

The New Diplomat reports that only 13 aspirants are contesting in the presidential primary election of the PDP today.

They are; Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike; his Sokoto State counterpart, Aminu Tambuwal; and a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Others are Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State; his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed; a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose; a former Senate President, Pius Anyim; Diana Teriela, the only woman in the race; media mogul, Dele Momodu; a pharmacist, Sam Ohuabunwa; Charles Ugwu and Chikwendu Kalu.
