The Ondo state governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state, poses no threat to his governorship bid.

Aiyedatiwa said his opponent from the opposition party will be made a mincemeat in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The governor, who stated this during the APC campaign tour to the Ese Odo local government area of the state, maintained that the PDP stands no chance in the election.

He said the umbrella has been torn into shreds and members of the opposition party are now vulnerable to rain of defeat.

Ayedatiwa expressed his readiness to change the narrative about the state economy and transform governance in the state, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to honouring his pledges by delivering exemplary governance.

Aiyedatiwa said his focus is on delivering good governance and serving only the public interest, having successfully laid a solid foundation for the socio-economic prosperity of the state.

The governor and APC candidate said he is committed to fulfilling the social contracts he signed with the people of the state and that he will deliver democracy dividends to them.

Speaking in Igbobini, Aiyedatiwa vowed to the people that their welfare and wellbeing would be prioritised and challenged the people to speak with their votes by exercising their franchise for the APC in the upcoming election.

He maintained that the main opposition, the PDP, no longer exists in the state and said, “I want to thank you for your patience as we gathered here today. I salute your love, unity, and support for us and the party. I will reciprocate this gesture after the election.

“No doubt, we have initiated many projects, and we will do more. Our roads, schools, and hospitals are receiving attention. We have also ensured the state’s security.

“We are also employing more teachers in the school. So, come November 16, you must troop out en masse and vote for our party (APC) in the election.”

Ayedatiwa noted that most of the heavyweight politicans in the PDP have defected to the APC and the remaining rump can’t stand in the way of APC’S victory.

“I want you to use our vote to chase away other political parties. As you know, all the gladiators in the PDP are now with us. We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds. In this coming election, your vote must be for the APC.”

Aiyedatiwa appreciated members of the APC for their steadfastness, noting that their support and loyalty have continued to make the ruling party wax stronger in the state.

While noting that his administration would continue to initiate more developmental projects across the state if elected to retain power, Aiyedatiwa said the government has invested heavily in the areas of education, health, and the construction of good roads and infrastructure.

He solicited the support of the people, urging them to troop out en masse by ensuring they exercise their franchise without fear, and asking his supporters not to relent in their house-to-house campaign for his victory in the election.

Speaking at Kiribo, Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, emphasising the importance of the upcoming election. He urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the progress his administration has initiated.

Addressing a mammoth crowd in Igbotu, Aiyedatiwa assured the residents of the state of his administration’s determination to sustain the present tempo of infrastructure development across the state.
