Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State is currently present at the meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), in Abuja, despite not being a member of the apex board of the party, according to the PDP Constitution.

The members of the PDP BoT, on Thursday gathered at the national secretariat, Abuja in order to address and resolve the crisis rocking the party.

The PDP crisis hit the rooftop recently as seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC), on Tuesday resigned from their respective positions. The members cited “bad treatment, unpleasant working environment”, as the reasons for their action.

This comes as the party’s National Chairman, Uche Secondus is currently under fire over his leadership style.

In a move to address and tackle the issues rocking the party, the BoT members called for a meeting at the national secretariat.

However, Wike stormed the meeting despite the fact that Governors are not members of the BoT and do not attend the party’s BoT meetings.

Although, it is not clear why the Governor attended, however Wike and Secondus are known to be at loggerheads. The Governor had at several times aired his opinion on the leadership style of Secondus.

Also pesent at the meeting are PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus; National Secretary Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri; Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Suleiman Nazi; immediate past president of the Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki; former president of the Senate, David Mark, and former president of the Senate, Adolphus Ndaneweh Wabara.
