Embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus, has filed a lawsuit at a Court of Appeal in the Abuja, seeking an affirmation of his status as the party’s till the expiration of his four-year tenure on December 9, 2021.

This is coming after a Rivers State High Court and a Cross River High Court had granted an interim order stopping Secondus from parading himself as the National Chairman of the PDP.

Secondus has now approached the appellate court to quash orders of two high courts that restrained him as the National Chairman of the party.

He also asked the court to nullify his suspension by his ward, on the grounds that the section 59(3) of the PDP constitution clearly stated that the ward or the state executive committee of any state has no powers to suspend any national officer of the party.

This was contained in the appeal application filed by Secondus legal counsel, Emeka Etiaba (SAN).

In the application, Secondus is arguing that the constitution of the party guaranteed that the tenure of any member of the National Working Committee(NWC), including the National Chairman, is four years, stressing that his tenure will end on December 9.
