A former governor of Jigawa State and one time minister of Foreign Affairs, Sule Lamido, has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a ‘small boy’ overestimating his political clout.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain stressed that the former Rivers State governor is “small fry”who was not in the scheme of things when the former ruling party was formed in 1999 at the twilight of military interregnum.

Lamido, who dismissed Wike’s influence as inconsequential, said the FCT minister should be left to his infantile prattle and grandstanding.

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs said this during an 30 -minute interview he granted to Trust TV on Friday while responding to Wike’s holding a position in the Tinubu administration without officially defecting from the PDP.

Lamido said Wike learnt everything he is practicing now from some of the founding fathers of the party. He noted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is a product of the lingering internal crisis in the PDP

The ex-governor noted that Wike has no say in how to resolve the crisis

“Leave Wike alone. Wike is a very small boy in PDP history. Where was he in 1999? Everything he’s doing, he learnt from others—betrayal, treachery. There have always been PDP members fighting the party from within. But, frankly, Wike is now inconsequential. I’m more focused on PDP leaders who understand the party’s history and mission. If they return, we could unify the PDP and offer a credible alternative to the APC.” Lamido said.
