The Peoples Democratic Party is leading in 17 of the 23 local government areas of Rivers State from the results of the governorship election so far collated in the state.

The party’s governorship candidate, Siminalayi Fubara has garnered massive lead over Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC has maintained a distant second, while the Social Democratic Party is maintaining the third position followed by the Labour Party in the 17 LGAS announced so far.

The State Returning Officer for the Rivers State Governorship election, Prof Akpofure Rim-Rukeh has, however, adjourned collation till 10am today, Monday March 20.
