The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has issued a notice to the administrative offices of the Ministry of Power, Works, Education, the Defence Headquarters, the Nigeria Police Force alongside key Ministries and Departments of Agencies (MDAs) to pay their electricity bills or face a blackout on Monday, June 3, 2024.

According to the notice issued on Saturday, May 31, all clients who fail to clear their debts by June 3 will be disconnected.

“This is to inform the general public that AEDC will disconnect all customers with outstanding electricity bills on June 3, 2024,” the notice reads.

“Timely payment of electricity bills is crucial for the continued operation and enhancement of AEDC’s infrastructure, ensuring we can deliver efficient and reliable service to our community.”

The electricity distribution company urged the affected customers to clear their outstanding bills before the deadline to avoid service disconnection, which may cause undue hardship, as reported by Daily Trust.
