The General Overseer(GO) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has reportedly sold his private chopper, AgustaWestland AW139 chopper, with registration number 5N-EAA.

According to reports, the renowned pastor sold off his helicopter over huge maintenance cost. The maintenance fee of the helicopter was said to be gulping a total of $300,000 monthly.

According to the official market rate of Saturday, the maintenance fee helicopter is gulping N123million. This was said to have triggered Adeboye to sell the helicopter.

This is also coming in the wake of the recent suspension of the helicopter by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCCA).

Recall that the NCAA had suspended Adeboye’s helicopter over expiration of some of its papers and spare parts.

The helicopter was acquired by Adeboye in September 2020 to ferry him and other officials of the church across the world for the preaching of the gospel, a development which generated widespread condemnation from Nigerians.

Many individuals had criticised Adeboye, alongside other top pastors for allegedly using the tithe and offerings paid by their church members to enrich themselves.
