Fear pervades Ughelli, Delta State as some hoodlums brandishing various weapons stormed Ekiugbo and Oto-Iwhreko areas in the town, while natives were having an annual festival, killing one in the process.

The Delta State Police Command has also confirmed the attack on Thursday.

The Acting Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, while addressing the press disclosed that one person was killed, adding that several other persons sustained various degrees of injuries.

Edafe however stopped short of disclosing the cause of the attack. Meanwhile, sources said it could be a premeditated attack.

It was gathered that the attack could be as a result of the communal war which had occurred between two neighbouring communities of Ekiugbo and Oto-Iwhreko in Ughelli kingdom.
