In a statement by its National Chairman, Emmanuel Ibok Essien, a former Senator who represented Akwa Ibom West Senatorial District, the body praised Clark’s decades-long advocacy for the oil-rich Niger Delta region.
The forum extolled Clark as “a man of inestimable value” and “a steadfast and tireless advocate” for over 70 years.

According to the statement, Clark, a recipient of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and the Order of the Niger (CON), has been a prominent voice for the Niger Delta’s interests.
It noted that the revered Ijaw leader and former Senator is widely respected across the nation as a legendary figure who has championed minority rights and advocated for resource control and derivation.
“We are grateful for the pivotal roles he has continued to play in the pursuit of enduring peace and development in the Niger Delta Region and the nation as a whole. We salute his bravery, resilience, sagacity, fervor, and fortitude,” it added.
In wishing Clark well, PANDEF expressed hope that “the Almighty continues to bestow upon him the blessings of good health, peace, and overall well-being as we gleefully anticipate celebrating his centennial and beyond.”
