The General Overseer of the Living Faith Church International also known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged all women who want to abide by the tenets of feminism to aviod marriage.

The renowned clergyman, while preaching to his congregation, Sunday, stated that feminism devastates marriage and destiny.

Feminist advocacy has been generating endless arguments and controversy in recent times. While many had argued that feminism simply means equality of men and women in the society on the basis of rights, some were of the opinion that both sexes must be equal in all aspect of life, including marriage as well as some other radical offshoots of the subject matter.

Oyedepo while speaking on the controversial topic advised women who are interested in marital success against joining the feminist movement. Backing his claim with biblical instructions, Oyedepo said the Bible has clearly stated that women who are married must always submit to their husbands.

According to him, despite the current wave of civilisation, the injunctions well spelt in the holy Bible can never be altered.

In his words, “submit yourself to your husband in everything,” women respond saying, “No, not today, that was before. Right now, nobody can do that. We are co-heirs, male and female, no difference.”

“Right now, there is a feminine revolution. Then you get into feminine frustration and destiny devastation.

“You know something, no book on earth will ever overtake the Bible in currency. It is the eternal truth. While the earth remains, the truth of scriptures remains in force, you either choose to follow or go your way.

“For we can do nothing against the truth – no matter what civilisation we are talking about – but for the truth at all times.

“If feminist revolution is your vision, don’t attempt to get married, because it won’t work.”
