The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it has scheduled the Osun State governorship primary election for February 19.

The National Secretary of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, made this disclosure in a statement issued in Abuja.

In the statement, the party disclosed that the deadline for the submission of completed forms and other documents is scheduled for Wednesday 9th of February, 2022.

The screening of aspirants is expected to hold on Thursday 10th of February, 2022, while the primary election will be held on Saturday 19th of February, 2022 and election appeal is scheduled to hold on Tuesday 22nd February, 2022.

The APC fixed the sale of the forms at N22.5million, while the nomination form costs N20 million, the expression of interest form costs N2.5million.

Meanwhile, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun state, has boasted that he will emerge as the winner in the upcoming governorship election of the state.

According to him, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not pose any threat to his second term bid as governor of the state.

He added that the people of Osun have casted a vote of confidence for his administration and has given him go ahead to complete his infrastructural development in the state.

The governor said this shortly after submitting his nomination and expression of interest forms at the APC national secretariat.

In his words, “Well I can talk about my party the APC, it remains the party to beat anytime, any day. I don’t see them having any extraordinary chance of doing what we are doing. The works, infrastructures that we have done is there for everyone to see. We have also received so much ratings from the people who are to decide in terms of what we have been able to do.

“We made some promises to the people, to a very large extent we have fulfilled our promises in spite of the paucity of fund to take care of the welfare and security of the people as a matter of priority.

“In terms of welfare, we have been paying the salaries and pensions of the people on a monthly basis since the inception of this administration. We have actually supported our people in the areas of agriculture and health scheme for the less privileged and vulnerable taking care of the vulnerable using the social register.”
