A former governor of Niger state, Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has publicy thrown his suppprt behind Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, as the right person to win the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former governor described Osinbajo as the best candidate, adding that only the VP understands and has solution to the challenges facing the country.

He added that in 2023, no “riff-raff or moneybag” will be allowed to interfere with the outcome of primary election which will be conducted by the party.

The former governor and Chairman Board of Trustees of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, made this remarks at the ongoing 2022 annual lecture of the foundation holding in Kano State.

“Mr Vice President, do you know you are the best candidate in your party?” he said.

With his comments, Aliyu might have thrown a jab at one of the national leaders of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had declared his “lifelong” ambition of contesting for the presidential position in 2023.
