Less than twenty four hours the Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom alleged grand conspiracy targeted at eliminating him by those he described as a gang of fulani elites, avalanche of criticisms have continued to trail the involvement of the dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi in the saga.
Ortom who fingered Khalifa Sanusi 11, the spiritual leader in Tijanniya Sufi Order of Nigeria as the helmsman in the plot to kill him, said:”My attention was drawn to a write up signed by 52 personalities of fulani extraction led by the deposed Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi in form of a letter to Mr President in which the group leveled all manner of accusations against me in a desperate attempt to set me up for hatred, vilification and attacks.
“The group which refused to give itself a name, accused me of being responsible for the recent killing of some pastoralists at Akwanaja, Doma local government area of Nassarawa state via bomb attack,” he said.
Against this back drop, Ortom who disclosed that seven assassination attempts have been made on his life, said Sanusi has urged all fulanis to consider him as their enemy.
In a swift reactions to the drama that’s currently playing out, Nigerians in their twitter handle, expressed concern over the altercations between the Governor and Sanusi.
While some Nigerians were of the opinion that Ortom has abandoned governance for picking a fight against the fulani extraction, others were of the opposing view that the spiritual leader, Sanusi has bitten more than he could chew.
Network pool monitored by The New Diplomat showed that the two actors at war got a dose of disappointment from the Nigerian people .

Fulanis are the problem. It’s clear now to all tribes of Nigeria that the fulanis are against the progress of this country. Nigerians

Lamido Sanusi should fight Gandollar that removed him and disgraced him…… Ortom is not your problem….

Tiv has always been ruling Benue. Is the state for them alone? Have they ever considered Idoma or Igede?…… it’s the same with Nigeria. Ortom should be fair at home first…..

…… however, 2011 was when the attacks assumed a dreadful dimension with widespread killings, injury and displacement of farmers from their ancestral homes…….. What’s wrong with us southerners for heaven’s sake! GEJ should have nipped this herdsmen nonsense in the bud during his presidency. It seems like we southerners often lack the courage to act when push comes to shove.

It’s obvious that for seven and half years, Governor Ortom has abandoned governance in Benue state while chasing the fualanis

I believed nemesis is gradually catching up with those who betrayed former President GoodLuck Jonathan’s administration. Sanusi was one them. Despite the enormous power and influence wielded as the Central bank Governor at the GEJ government, he still collaborated with his fulani brothers to betray an innocent man who gave you so much freedom to exhibit the intelligence you never had. Today, where are you? Your doom is yet to begin because no Nigerian, not even your fulani brothers would ever trust you with power.

Some postings here said they have lost respect for Sanusi Lamido. I second that view and assertion. When you take people as civilized, then they would come out to disappoint: this is a height of disappointment. Here’s Lamido who was once CBN Governor, and many Nigerians supported him when he had a running battle with Jonathan’s government. Here’s Lamido who was once an Emir of Kano but was merely picked by the shirt collar and thrown out the window like an errant urchin. Lamido chicken out of Kano and sought refuge with the Kaduna state Governor, Mallam El Rufai.

Sanusi has superiority complex, megalomania running in his blood line. Strangers in Nigeria who stole crowns and identity of the Hausas. Fualanis end is near, the retrogressive tribe

Sanusi lost all my respect from this kind of report. I was thinking he’s among the few sane from his clan that can be reasoned with. Cow na cow anywhere any day.

Sanusi Lamido, the murderer who killed Gideon Akaluka by beheading him in Kano in 1995 and was jailed for over 10 years is forever a Fulani terrorist! We in the middle belt will ensure that no Fulani ever a stay in our land. Traitors like Simon Lalong will die.

If they kill you, it’s not a big lose to Nigeria of over two hundred million people. If they could eliminate all those holding elective public office, Nigeria would be a better place for all -comers. You are all of no good and no use to mankind.
