A Delta State-based dynamic political group, Option A for Okowa has organised a well-attended thanksgiving service to honour God for granting victory to His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in the March 9, 2019 governorship election in the state.
The thanksgiving service which took place at the Christ Chosen Church, Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area today, attracted hundreds of members of Option A for Okowa across the state.
Speaking during the service, the National Coordinator of Option A, Comrade Olumami Oyibo said that the group committed itself to the victory of His Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, adding that God crowned their effort with a resounding victory for the Governor.
Comrade Oyibo said that the group has every reason to thank God for the victory of the governor because another four years for Governor Okowa will completely transform the entire state with prosperity for all.
He said: “We members of Option A, Turn by Turn for Okowa believed wholeheartedly in the project for the second tenure for the governor. That was why we put in everything into it including prayers to God.
“And when God granted victory to the governor, we Option A decides to organized a thanksgiving service to God because Governor Okowa’s victory is our Victory.”
Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the service, Oyibo assured that Governor Okowa’s second tenure will by far be better than his first tenure, adding that whatever promise the governor has made during his campaign, he will fulfill all.
Oyibo also assured Deltans, especially civil servants, that Governor Okowa was very much ready to implement the new minimum wage of N30,000 which President Buhari recently signed into an Act.
Earlier in his sermon the pastor of the church enjoined people to learn to appreciate God, adding that “the more you thank God the more He grants you more victory”.
Highpoint of the occasion was the procession of hundreds of Option A members led by Comrade Oyibo and Comrade Agburhe to the altar where they offered thanksgiving to God.
The ceremony which was rounded off at the Orerokpe country home of Comrade Oyibo with sumptuous meal and assorted drinks marked the Easter Sunday celebration by members of Option A for Okowa who came from the 25 Local Government Areas of the State.
