A fight broke out between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sunday morning as heavy shooting was heard along Oba Adesida road, a major road in Akure, Ondo State, even as tension grips residents six days to the Ondo Governorship election.
The clash between the two opposite political groups is said to be a reprisal attack over an APC member that was killed in Oba Nla area of Akure, Saturday night.
Many of the supporters were said to have inflicted injuries on themselves even as several vehicles were damaged as a result of the fight.

However, men of the Police force have stormed the area to calm the atmosphere.
The clash between the rival groups is coming on the heels of security operatives deployed to different areas of the state ahead of the October 10 election.
