  • APC Wins In 9 LGAs; PDP Has 3

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is heading for a re-election victory, according to results from 12 of the 18 LGAs declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

From election results declared at the collation centres of the 12 LGAs, Akeredolu had polled 189,489 votes as of the time of this reporting.

Akeredolu is leading his rivals with over 84,000 votes and has won in 9 LGAs.Ondo Akeredolu

PDP’s Eyitayo Jegede is trailing the incumbent after garnering 108,195 votes. However, Agboola Ajayi of the ZLP came a distant third with 37,806 votes.

The 12 LGAs where results have been collated are: Ile Oluji, Akoko North-East, Akoko South-West, Akoko South-East, Akoko North-West, Irele, Ose, Ifedore, Owo, Okitipupa, Akure North-West, and Idanre.

Results from six LGAs are still being awaited.

Earlier, The New Diplomat had reported that each of the three main candidates won at their respective polling units.
