The Ondo Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has disclosed that the secretariat of the party in the state will be shut down following the shocking demise of the party Chairman, Mr Fatai Adams, who reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday

Publicity Secretary for Ondo PDP, Mr Kennedy Peretei, confirmed the incident and said the party would make an official announcement soon

Mr Fatai Adams, who died 43 days after he was reportedly suspended from the party on allegations of engaging in anti-party activities, was said to have complained of headache, after which he was rushed to the hospital in Ikare, Ondo, his hometown. Fatai thereafter, gave up the ghost.

His suspension was said to have been ratified by the State Working Committee (SWC) on 4th, January, but the PDP National Working Committee reportedly rejected the suspension as null and void

Mr Peretei, shortly after Adams’ demise said that the party Secretariat would be shut down to mourn the loss, adding that the flags of the party across the three senatorial districts would be flown at half-mast.

Fatai Adams was a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011 before being elected state chairman in August 2020. He also served as Deputy State Chairman of the PDP.

While the cause of his death is yet unknown, the People’s Democratic Party commiserates with his family and the Ondo PDP at large.
